Andrea Berez is a Registered Dietitian and a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition. Andrea has a passion for helping children, teens and families develop their own unique set of healthy lifestyle changes. She has over 12 years of experience as a pediatric dietitian.

 

She began her experience on the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Andrea then spent over 8 years working with children with a wide range of medical needs at Rutgers Child Health Care Institute in New Brunswick, NJ, a specialty clinic affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson University Children's Hospital, Bristol-Meyers Squibb.  

 

Throughout her career, Andrea has cherished being able to take on many challenging and rewarding responsibilities in addition to her clinical work. She was co-coordinator of CHINJ's pediatric weight management programs, A New Weigh and, Healthy ME.  As part of these programs, Andrea conducted pediatric obesity research, taught individuals and groups, and obtained physical measurements such as waist circumference, blood pressure, resting energy expenditure, and physical activity assessments. In addition, she was a preceptor for many dietetic internship programs including Rutgers University, Drexel University, and Montclair State University, and worked with Rutgers University pediatric MD fellowship program.  

 

Andrea has also always had a passion for public speaking. She has presented educational seminars and has taught many cooking and nutrition classes to parents, children, teachers, and fellow RD and MD colleagues. Andrea has participated in numerous health and wellness fairs in the state. During these events, she enjoys sharing information with families and children through play and fun.

 

At the present time, Andrea works with children and families in her private practice, consults with pediatricians in the area, and is a health coach for overweight teenage girls as part of an online social media program.
